He is a potter making pottery in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. From an early age, he helped his British father, who was active in Kasama, with the climbing kiln, and is currently active as the second generation of the kiln. He cherishes the "folk art spirit", such as local production for local consumption of raw materials and passing on the tradition of Kasama ware. On the other hand, by adding a modern sensibility to the modeling, he pursues a modern folk art that is unique to him.
In pursuit of modern folk art
It's strange that the more you look at it, the more classic it feels, while giving off a modern impression. Ingredients that have been handed down from generation to generation in Kasama are combined with a modern sensibility. I feel that the theme of "modern folk art" that Selenium pursues is directly embodied.
I also like the straight name of Main dish plate, and it matches the bold impression of the plate very well.
Originally, it was made in 9.5 inch, but I asked for it to be made in 8 inch so that it would be easy for even one person to use.
