A temple called Toshun Temple in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Gakuji Masui has Mizunokami kiln in the precincts.
It is often said that "no single piece of pottery is the same", and Mr. Masui's pottery is the best example of this. Rather than perfectly controlling the clay and glaze, the unique expression of the pottery is valued. Currently, he is earnestly working on the possibilities of new creations, using raw materials from Yamaguchi Prefecture and cray from Toshun Temple.
Soft look and sharp mouthfeel
This mug is characterized by a soft and warm expression that does not look like porcelain in a good way. Mr. Masui has a lot of bold pottery that makes use of the expression of the earth, but in fact, one of the charms of Mr. Masui is the sophisticated impression like this.
Quietly, yet firmly supports your life.
In contrast to the soft expression, it is also a point that the mouthfeel is made sharp. It is thin enough to feel comfortable when you put it on your mouth.
The capacity is about 210 ml at the 8th minute. It is possible to pour plenty of coffee.
Despite the glossy texture of porcelain, it has a soft atmosphere.
