Takahiro Manome of Manome Studio makes pottery in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. He creates unique pieces using scratch and inlaying techniques based on the simple and warm texture of kohiki (powder-coated porcelain). In his private life, he is also a coffee lover, enjoying coffee with a dripper and mug of his own making.
There is a taste that can only be brought out by scratch
Scratch series, which is a representative design of Takahiro Manome. After applying the white slip with a brush, the facial expressions are created one by one with a file. It is a very time-consuming work, but the look that has been used for many years is unique to scratch. You can definitely feel that there is a taste that can only be produced with this technique.
When sanding, he doesn't know what kind of expression it's going to look like, and the pattern stands out only after firing. Therefore, it is interesting that each piece has a different uniqueness.
It's deep enough to serve plenty of salads and simmered dishes.
It is also good for stacking storage.
