A tea bowl that fits comfortably in your hand

In Okinawa, a tea bowl (= makai) refers to a slightly shallower bowl, but the one made by Kimano Pottery is slightly larger than that. It is also recommended for men as it can be filled with plenty.

Because it is layered in the same way as Yachimun, you can see a "snake's eye" in the center of the prospect. This is where the glaze was scraped off to prevent the pieces from sticking together during firing. This process is used to bake many pieces at once, but I feel that the round white pattern makes it even more adorable.
