Gakuji Masui

A temple called Toshun Temple in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Gakuji Masui has Mizunokami kiln in the precincts. It is often said that "no single piece of pottery is the same", and Mr. Masui's pottery is the best example of this. Rather than perfectly controlling the clay and glaze, the unique expression of the pottery is valued.

Currently, he is earnestly working on the possibilities of new creations, using raw materials from Yamaguchi Prefecture and cray from Toshun temple.
