Hirota Glass has been a glass manufacturer for about 120 years since its founding in 1899 (Meiji 32). It is considered one of the oldest glass makers in Tokyo.
After the war, while mass production by mechanization became mainstream, Hirota Glass has consistently continued to produce by hand. What was there was the desire to create a product that appeals to people's sensibilities and has a 'warmth' that fits in the hand. Based on the design materials that have been handed down since the company's founding, they continue to create nostalgic yet modern glassware with a touch of modern essence.
